 The fixations cause us suffering, but they are also a blessing. They are like motors that drive us through life, but if we don't take them too seriously and stay playful and present, they are delightful gifts. From an early age these motors create a combination of strengths that can help us enrich life on earth in our own special way.

Nine Types,
Nine Heroes

I've never met these people, and some are not around any more, so it is impossible for me to say they definitely have/had that fixation. 

However, I think they are good examples of how a certain focus of attention can enrich the society one live in. Of course, there are countless others, famous or not, that I could have selected.
