Happiness for Type Fives

A Five has a few typical traps:

  •  - Needing to withdraw from others to protect themselves.
  •  - Needing to become experts in a certain field to find some sense of security.
  •  - Needing to question everything, leading them to find it difficult to accept the way things are.
  •  - Social awkwardness and difficulties expressing emotions.
  •  - Paranoia and extreme skepticism.

If you are a Five, sit still and quietly and notice how active your mind is, how it is constantly trying to understand things and interpret the world in a way that makes you feel safe.

The main tip for a type Five is to accept that ultimately they can't understand the world with the mind. They can remind themselves that it is OK to not know, and to just be present with what is.   When they let go, they can find a deeper sense of knowing that goes beyond the mind and is much more satisfying. See the video above for demonstration.
